I fell in love with photography back in 10th grade. My sophomore year of high school was really a year of discovery for me. My photojournalistic style began to develop and I took an interest into different cultures and people. I was taking two languages, and studying history like the nerd that I am. The rest of high school was a learning process. I put myself out there more and more and pushed my photography.
But, I have a confession to make. As soon as I got into college I had a falling out with photography. I was in San Antonio for my first year and felt as though I was isolated from anything photographically worthwhile. All the while I still called myself a photographer. I felt like a poser sitting there in my sophomoric slump.
For the past couple years that's been changing. I've been falling back in love with photography recently. As I've been pushing myself through the Texas Creative sequence I've been keeping myself busy with more photography and design. It's been an uphill battle, but it's so worth it.
It's gotten to the point where I'm trying to develop my photojournalism in the airport on the flight back home to New York this summer.
I've got some photojournalism projects in the works as well as some personal design work. I'll post all about that here. More coming soon!
